There were dressing rooms where you could try on the clothes, so it wasn´t a guessing game as to whether the size marked on the garment was correct or not. I think what struck me most about this shop was the quantity of really neat clothes, not just old cast offs from someone else´s closet, but things that you would want to buy from a store like H&M in Madrid.
#5TH AVENUE AVE GAY BAR BROOKLYN FULL#
A well known thrift store that is full of great clothes, accessories, and locally made crafts. From there, I stopped into Beacon´s Closet. This store is, as evidenced by the name, Jewish run…but it had some really neat tchotchkes and trinkets, along with second hand clothes that included a little something for everyone (nowadays the store closed).īefore I started exploring, I enjoyed one of the best lattes you can find in Brooklyn and maybe in New York (in my opinion) from Gorilla Coffee. My first stop was a thrift store at number 66, Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn, called Bnai Tzedukah. Since I didn´t have any real plan or time table, I had the luxury of wandering in and out of any shop that looked interesting. I stepped off the Subway at Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn and walked about 10 minutes until I was on Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn. This time, however, I discovered lots of neat little shops and places on Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn. I remember thinking that the brownstones were lovely, that there were some cute little shops, and nice trees to remind you that the concrete jungle of Manhattan does, indeed, have an end. It´s a sad but true fact that until recently, I had only visited Brooklyn´s Park Slope neighborhood for a job interview a few years back. Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn is a perfect place for anyone who loves shopping in thrift stores Bnai Tzeduka
